The Fight to Silence “Saving PTK”: How Phi Theta Kappa Tried — and Failed — to Bury the Truth

When I first announced Saving PTK: The Whistleblower’s Fight for Truth and Change, I thought I was finally turning a page. I thought that after ten years of silence, I would get to tell my story — and let others know they weren’t alone.

But before the book could be published, Phi Theta Kappa went to court behind closed doors and obtained a temporary restraining order (TRO) to block its release. They didn’t argue the facts were false. They called the content “unflattering.” That alone was enough to trigger an emergency legal response to silence me.

A Texas judge has now dissolved that gag order.

The court recognized what this always was: an unconstitutional attempt to stop a survivor from speaking. It was a legal attack on truth — and a dangerous precedent for anyone who dares to expose misconduct in powerful organizations.

This was never about revenge. It was about truth.

“This book was never about revenge — it’s about truth. It’s about breaking a silence that has cost too many too much. I didn’t write it for headlines. I wrote it for the students, survivors, and whistleblowers who’ve been told to sit down and stay quiet. Not anymore.”

Saving PTK will be released. That has never been in question.

But the book has been delayed — not because I lost in court, but because I had to fight for the right to publish it at all. And because in the process of defending this truth, more has come to light.

More stories.
More documents.
More reasons this fight matters.

As I update the manuscript and prepare for launch, I’m doing so with renewed purpose. Because this book is no longer just about what happened to me — it’s about what happens when power tries to silence people like me, and people like you.

“Saving PTK is not just a book — it’s proof that you can stand up, fight back, and win. This victory wasn’t just mine. It belongs to every student, whistleblower, and survivor who’s ever been threatened into silence.”

Thank you for standing with me. And thank you for your patience as I bring this book — our book — into the world.
